How BBA Prepared Me for Leadership and Real-World Business

I chose the University of Tartu Business Administration (BBA) programme for my bachelor's studies because it offered the best balance of knowledge and experience while being away from home, yet not too far, and at a reasonable cost to earn the degree. Although I could have studied a similar curriculum in Tallinn, I wanted to spend my university years in Estonia’s “university town” and acquire my degree in English, as this is a global business language.

I really value my years studying in the BBA programme, as I gained a strong overview of the administrative side of the business field and made many valuable connections.

I believe that Tartu was the best place to spend the university years. Why? Because Tartu is small and full of university students, this place has a different aura, and there’s always something cool going on for students.

While I was studying in the BBA program, I also sold books in the US and led my own team. This whole experience taught me so much about running my own business, work ethic, managing attitude, leading others and sales overall. Having helped hundreds of families with education and led a top-performing team, I truly believe that every university student who wishes to do well in their career should take part in this program, as it has truly given a lot.

During my free time, I also participated in the Investment Club at the Delta building. We held weekly workshops, and top Estonian investors and bankers visited us to share their knowledge.

Currently, I work at Wise, one of the world’s leading payment service providers. In my everyday work, I support business customers with their experience using our product. I truly believe that I got very lucky to have the opportunity to work at Wise, and I am convinced that my knowledge from the BBA programme and experience gained from selling books in the USA support my career towards being an inspiring leader.

I recommend the BBA programme to anyone who aspires to gain a good quality overview of the business field and take the most out of their university years, since BBA, together with Tartu, definitely made my university years unforgettable in every sense!
