Undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students from universities in the Baltic countries, including the University of Tartu, are invited to an international student conference ”Bridges in the Baltics“, held at the University of Warsaw in Poland from 25 to 26 October 2026. Conference abstracts can be sent until 15 June 2026.
The conference welcomes 20-minute presentations concerning any of the following aspects of the Baltic countries:
- language and linguistics;
- literature, folklore and arts;
- cultural and biograpfical studies;
- media, film and communication;
- history and memory;
- other categories not listed above.
The presentations of the conference may be given in Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian or English; however, the abstract and presentation slides must be in English. We invite you to submit proposals for 20-minute papers, along with abstracts in English (max 1000 characters) by 15 June 2026 using the online form.
Letters of acceptance will be sent by 30 June 2026.
The conference has been held since 2013, and it aims to bring together students whose studies and research focus are on the languages or culture of the three Baltic States, give them a chance to meet their peers from other countries and universities, and present their academic work and interests.
