Maaja Vadi on the ERC Consolidator Grant evaluation panel

Maaja Vadi, Professor of Management at the University of Tartu, was among the panel members involved in the evaluation process of the European Research Council, or ERC, Consolidator Grant 2024.

According to the list of panel members published by the ERC, Vadi was a member of the Social Sciences and Humanities SH1 panel, “Individuals, Markets and Organisations”. In total, 28 panels took part in the 2024 Consolidator Grant evaluation process across three scientific domains: Physical Sciences and Engineering, Life Sciences, and Social Sciences and Humanities. In the ERC Consolidator Grant 2024 call, 328 researchers across Europe received funding. The total amount awarded was 678 million euros, supporting researchers in strengthening their independent research teams and developing their most promising scientific ideas. Read more on the ERC website.

Maaja Vadi's research focuses on organisational culture, management, organisational behaviour, organisational innovation and synergy effects. Her recent research has addressed, among other topics, the role of synergy and learning effects in innovation processes, as well as the combined impact of technological and organisational innovation on firm performance. In 2025, together with Associate Professor Priit Vahter, she received the Mihhail Bronštein Award in Economics for a series of articles examining the role of synergy and learning effects in the innovation process.
