Professor Kadri Ukrainski elected as Head of School of the Economics and Business Administration
The Council of the School of Economics and Business Administration elected Kadri Ukrainski, Professor in Research and Innovation Policy, to the position of Head of School. The term of the Head will begin on 16 February 2019 for a period of three years.
“I believe that if I have already taken the responsibility of a professor position then managing the School should be part of that role. Most of our School’s successful professors have been elected deans. Also, as my chair is doing well at the moment, I can dedicate three years to managing the School without compromising my other duties,” Ukrainski said.
Regarding the School’s strategic development goals, Ukrainski commits to increase the visibility of economics in Estonian society, but also to foster broader cooperation, especially with regards to developing partnerships with the Delta Centre and to expand International cooperation and collaboration with the Faculty of Social Sciences. In order to maintain the School, it is definitely important to continue with international projects, applied research projects and various sectoral studies, to offer in-service trainings packages and various testing / consulting services to companies.
Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences Professor Raul Eamets gave Professor Maaja Vadi a letter of appreciation from the Rector of the University of Tartu for her dedication and for the results achieved in the management and development of the School.
