About the School

The School of Economics and Business Administration (SEBA) is part of the Faculty of Social Sciences, with a history of more than 75 years of teaching business and economics.

  • More than 775 students are studying at SEBA altogether
  • SEBA employs 74 people including 9 professors, 9 associate professors, 15 lecturers and assistants and 17 researches.
  • Alma mater for many outstanding business and political leaders. Notably, Mr. Siim Kallas, Vice-President of the European Commission (2010-2014).
  • Three laureates of the Estonian National Science Prize and a member of the Estonian Academy of Science are among the academic staff.

SEBA has a leading role in Estonian economic and business education with internationally qualified and experienced staff.

As part of the only traditional university in Estonia, SEBA has great opportunities for offering academic economic education.

Three English-taught degree programmes have been developed in order to prepare qualified and competent people for the fast-paced global society. Graduates of SEBA are confident and capable in all spheres of the economy, be it in finance, innovation, entrepreneurship, management or statistical analysis.

Extracurricular activities

Students can take part in extracurricular activities to further develop their skills. The sTARTUp provides entrepreneurial programmes for students who seek opportunities to put their academic knowledge into practice. It brings together students from different fields from all around South Estonia to solve a wide range of problems, find working solutions, build prototypes and develop business models.

BBA students are often involved in the AIESEC network and participate in the annual Student Startup camp. Open lectures ranging from the power of improvisation to policymaking in the EU are held regularly by the university.

Delta's modern learning environment​

The Delta Centre of the University of Tartu is one of the most modern centres of digital technology, analytical and economic thought in the Nordic region. You can find student areas, library, café, auditoriums with up to 300 seats, UT demo room, laboratories, etc. ​

Meeting Point for Future Ideas! The University of Tartu Delta Centre brings together a vibrant community of students, researchers and innovators in the fields of computer science, robotics, technology, mathematics, statistics, economics, management and business. The Delta Centre combines learning, excellence in research and the challenges of business and society, creating innovative solutions for economic and social progress. We develop a variety of collaborative formats, organise and partner with inspirational events.

 

Research

School of Economics and Business Administration (SEBA) of University of Tartu is the leading and rapidly developing research centre in economics, international business and management in Estonia.  We aim to provide a vibrant research environment that is linked to international centres of excellence and produces high level academic and policy relevant economic analysis.

Among academic staff there are three laureates of the Estonian National Science Prize and a member of the Estonian Academy of Science.
