Join the Open Innovation Academy Hackathon 2024 Kickoff on September 20th

We are thrilled to announce the Open Innovation Academy Hackathon 2024, starting on September 20th. This event is designed to unite students, innovators, and professionals to solve real-world challenges and foster collaboration. Participants will not only engage in problem-solving but will also gain access to exclusive educational materials valued at €8000, provided by industrial partners.

Throughout the hackathon, participants will complete educational modules, work in teams, and present technical solutions alongside business models. The event will be judged by an expert panel, with prizes raffled among those completing all modules.

Some of the Exciting Challenges:

  1. Wemel Wood Challenge: Focuses on creating sustainable solutions for the wood industry. Participants will work on innovative approaches to reduce material waste and improve production efficiency, addressing critical environmental challenges.
  2. Open Hybrid LabFactory Challenge: This challenge invites teams to develop hybrid manufacturing technologies. Participants will combine traditional and advanced techniques to enhance sustainability in production processes, improving both environmental and economic outcomes.

Starting on September 20th, the main hackathon will challenge participants to form teams and bring business ideas to life. The journey continues through a series of key milestones:

  • October 4th: Initial Idea Presentations
  • October 18th: Development Progress Showcase
  • November 1st: Prototype Presentations
  • November 15th: Team Development and Market Launch
  • November 29th: Grand Finale and Awards

Each event builds on the previous one, ensuring participants develop both entrepreneurial and technical skills. Whether you're refining market-fit strategies, prototyping, or preparing for market launch, you'll receive mentorship and feedback along the way.

The program is open to students, individual participants, and company employees seeking team-building and professional development opportunities. Each participant will receive a certificate from EIT Manufacturing, with individual module certificates available for those completing the hackathon individually.
