Start-up company involving BBA student took third prize at ClimateLaunchpad 2015
Estonian start-up ReLaDe, which also involves a Business Administration student Andrew Wilfong as Business Development Specialist is developing reusable biological enzymes that will change the way you wash your clothes. And with the company recently taking third prize at ClimateLaunchpad 2015 competition, chemical detergents could soon become a thing of the past.

Business Administration student to win Young Entrepreneur title of 2015 in Latvia
Junior Achievement Latvia, an organisation that promotes entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial spirit in young people has elected Mairis Gailums, a student of Bachelor of Business Administration as the Young Entrepreneur of the year 2015. Mairis Gailums was awarded the title for successfully realizing their business idea with the company called Dream Sleep, which produces travel pillows.

Students from top Korean university got to know Estonian entrepreneurship
On 7 July, students from Sungkyunkwan University in South–Korea visited Tartu, the University of Tartu, and the internationally successful mobile payment provider Fortumo for the first time to gather knowledge about entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial ability in Estonia and Tartu.

Extended deadline for Bachelor of Business Administration
There is still a possibility to apply for the English taught programme of Business Administration. Five tuition-based study places are available. Application period is 22.06. - 02.07, 2015. The admission results will be announced by July 10, 2015.

Entrepreneur Kuldar Leis started work at the UT Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation
The UT Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation has recruited Kuldar Leis, a renowned entrepreneur, to develop entrepreneurship studies. The entrepreneur with a strong sense of mission decided to come to work for the university to encourage business people to share their experiences with higher secondary school and university students. He says that it is also beneficial for the managers of companies if pupils and students understand the business world before they enter the job market.

Recognised researcher in social accounting speaks about developments in social responsibility

Tartu management conference deals with the role of management in diverse organisations
On 16 and 17 April, practitioners and theoreticians of six countries meet at the conference of the UT Faculty of Economics and Business Administration entitled “Management theory and practice: synergy in organisations”, which focusses on variety in management and management in various contexts. The aim of the conference is to give an overview of the latest research topics in organisational management and their application in practice as well as facilitate synergy between practitioners and researchers.

Vega fund grantee sees sweat as a solution to measure training efficiency
An international jury announced new grantees of the financial support of the Vega fund of SEB Bank and the University of Tartu Idea Lab. The support fund of 14,700 euros was divided between three development projects selected from 23 submitted applications. When the selected projects reach the market, visually impaired people can be more independent, the work of researchers can be more efficient and quantifying training will be taken on a whole new level.

Estonian and US students cooperate to bring new business ideas to life
Today, the UT Idea Lab launched the cooperation project “Network Globally, Act Locally” between the University of Tartu and two US universities – the College of Charleston and Nebraska Wesleyan University – to improve students’ entrepreneurial knowledge and skills. According to Maret Ahonen, the Head of the Idea Lab, all participants of the project will get an experience of working in an international and interdisciplinary team thanks to practice‑oriented studies.

New premises of UT Idea Lab are the pre-incubator for business ideas
The Idea Lab of the University of Tartu has created an inspiring teamwork centre in the building of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. The new premises give the students of southern Estonia and the teams of the Idea Lab a place for brainstorming and training, entrepreneurship studies, testing of products and software as well as for the pre-incubation of business ideas.
