On Friday, 22 February, the University of Tartu will celebrate the 95th anniversary of Estonian independence with a commemoration concert. At the commemoration, the Ernst Jaakson scholarship of 12,000 euro which is the largest in Estonia, will be handed over.
This year it goes to Priit Vahter, a Senior Research Fellow of Innovation Economics of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of UT. The scholar has been accepted as a guest researcher at the Aston University of the United Kingdom. The scholarship shall enable the young researcher to continue his cooperation with researchers of the United Kingdom in the field of factors of company innovation and productivity. “Upon making the decision, the specific objectives of Vahter and his academic success so far, and the importance of his work and connections for the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration and the university as a whole were determinative,” Ruth Kotsar, the Head of the University of Tartu Foundation, said.
