The University of Tartu Career Day

The Career Day of the University of Tartu will take place on Friday, the 14th of March at 12.00 at Dorpat conference centre.

The event will start with the keynote speaker Erki Mölder who shares his success story and experience in the job market. After that all the students are welcome to visit the career fair. This year, more than 30 companies from Estonia and abroad are participating. The background of the companies is so diverse that finding an interesting venture to talk to should not be a problem to any of the students. For English speaking students, the career fair is an excellent opportunity to make contact with future employers and talk to them on a one-on-one basis.

The students can also participate in the workshops, (previous registration needed in the Study Information System (in the category “Koolitused üliõpilasele”)). Two of the workshops are in English:

1. Providing skills and experience for your international career (Runway International).

Work in Runway will give you skills and experience useful in your further international career but also in your everyday life. Runway is a multi-lingual business process center located in the Baltic region, Spain and Ukraine. We provide a variety of BPO services to medium and large sized Nordic companies. On Career Days in Tartu we would like to meet students with Scandinavian language knowledge, preliminary knowledge in accountancy and medicine.

2. One step towards your dream job (Fortumo).

Fortumo is a fast-growing mobile payments company, founded in 2007, with offices in Estonia, San Francisco, Beijing and Delhi. We're helping top online and mobile developers to monetize users via mobile operator billing in over 80 countries globally. Our agile team of more than 60 talented individuals are divided between engineering, sales, support, finance, business operations and management roles. During this seminar we'll discuss with you what are the important aspects to consider when setting up your career, applying for a job and finding the right fit for yourself. We'll share some very practical tips and give a sneak peak into how we do things at Fortumo.
