On February 19, the research based business development program TIIVIK held its opening event at the University of Tartu Delta Building. Among participants there are researchers from the University of Tartu, TalTech, and the Estonian University of Life Sciences, as well as active students from the University of Tartu.
The opening event featured inspiring talks and practical insights from experts in their respective fields: Tõnu Esko, Vice Rector for Development at the University of Tartu; business development expert and entrepreneur Meelis Kadaja; and researcher Madli Jõks; and spin-off representative from Singapore Management University Gavriel Tan. Their shared experiences and stories provided valuable knowledge and inspired participants to engage in the program.
TIIVIK is a business development program designed for researchers and students who want to develop research based business ideas, build strong entrepreneurial teams and translate research results into practical applications. The program offers comprehensive support, including workshops, mentorship, and networking opportunities.
Over the next two months, both researchers and students will participate in various seminars and gain knowledge in areas such as ideation, product development, market strategy, team building, intellectual property and legal rights. The program also focuses on refining participants' elevator pitch skills.
TIIVIK creates synergy between researchers and students, helping them collaboratively develop innovative ideas and bring them closer to the market. The program offers an excellent opportunity for
developing and commercializing science-based solutions, equipping participants with the necessary knowledge and practical skills for implementation.
