A masculine L’Oréal product line created by UT students won first prize at the Baltic marketing competition
The students of the Faculty of Economy of the University of Tartu who are also members of the marketing club received first prize in Riga at the L’Oréal Baltic headquarters in the Baltic region final of the international marketing competition Brandstorm for creating an innovative masculine product line. The product is defended in the international round in Paris on 12 and 13 June.

The interest in studies in the University of Tartu by international students has increased nearly by half
The admission of student candidates to English-language curricula has concluded. The interest of international student candidates in studies in the University of Tartu has increased by more than 45% in comparison with the previous year. The greatest interest was in the master’s programme of software engineering for which 332 applications were submitted.

On March 28, the students of Business Administration had the opportunity to learn about the organisation of their practical training. The information hour began with the introduction to basic requirements and important dates of the internship, lead by the programme leader Maret Ahonen. This was followed by a presentation of two representatives from an international company Konecranes, Külli and Signe, who talked about the opportunities for having an internship or even a summer job at their company and invited students to apply.

U.S. Students Get Acquainted with Estonian Business Environment
Until 16 March, the students of Marymount University participate in an academic course by the University of Tartu introducing the Estonian business environment. Within this course, Skype, Microsoft Estonia and other enterprises are visited. The course has a special focus on innovation and e-solutions.

ERASMUS competition 2014/15
Dear students! Competition for Erasmus exchanges in the academic year 2014/2015 is now open! Erasmus is higher-education sub-program of Erasmus+ program (2014-2020) proposed by the European Commission. Students of participating universities can study or do internship in all EU Member States. UT students can apply to become an Erasmus exchange student at Erasmus partner institutions of their specialisation.

BBA students get into action at Student Startup Camp
From 3-9th February 2014, in co-operation with University of Tartu, Garage48 organized a Student Startup Camp, a practical entrepreneurship course that also involved students from FEBA. After pitching ideas, forming teams and a week worth of work, students pitched their ideas and showed done prototypes to the jury. CropHealer, a mobile application for farmers which helps to detect problems with plants, stood out and won the first Student Startup Camp competition. Maiden team, a cardgame based on reallife events, was announced as the runner-up.

The University of Tartu established the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centre
According to Erik Puura, Vice-Rector for Development, it is very important that different subunits of the university would feel the need for entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial ability training. “I really hope that we will be able to develop the training as attractive for a student as well as practical, so that becoming an entrepreneur after graduating from the university will be ordinary practice rather than an exceptional case,” said Puura.
