Admission to Quantitative Economics (MA) has begun!
The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration has launched a new Master programme in English called Quantitative Economics. The objective of the curriculum is to prepare highly qualified analysts for the government agencies, banks, international organizations and consultancy firms, filling top positions that require a detailed understanding and application of economic models and econometric methods.

First graduates on the curriculum of Business Administration
The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration is proud to announce its very first graduates on the curriculum of Business Administration. On Tuesday, January 21st, Patrik Johannes Henriksson and Arnis Supe passed their graduation exam and are therefore considered the first alumni of Business Administration. Congratulations to the fresh Bachelor degree holders!

Project for developing network in International Finance launched
On January 21st, University of Latvia, University of Siegen, Vytautas Magnus University and University of Tartu signed a co-operational project agreement titled “Baltic-German network „International Finance”: development of study process and research excellence”. Financing behind the project is provided by the Baltic-German University Liaison Office.

Doctoral crash courses on economic policy and macroeconomics
On November 6-7th, Prof. Nico S. Groenendijk from the University of Twente will give lecturers on the topic “Special Course in Economic Policy: Fiscal federalism & European integration”. On November 4-7th Dr. Jan Fidrmuc from Brunel University will give lectures on the topic „Advanced Macroeconomics II“. The lectures will take place at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration.

Senior researcher Priit Vahter from Faculty of Economics and Business Administration has published a research paper at the Strategic Management Journal. The article „Learning from openness: the dynamics of breadth in external innovation linkages“ is joint work with professor Jim Love from Aston University and Stephen Roper from University of Warwick. Opening Ceremony of Academic Year will be on the 2nd of September
The opening ceremony of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration for the 2013-2014 Academic Year will be held on Monday, on the 2nd of September at 15.00 at the University’s Assembly Hall in the main building (Ülikooli 18). After the ceremony, at 16.15 senior researcher Ott-Siim Toomet will give an academic lecture on the topic: "Are we really rational? How economists explain human behaviour". The lecture will take place in room A313 at the faculty building (Narva mnt 4) and will last until 17.00.
